Marbled Peanut Butter and Chocolate Snickers Cookies

I definitely see a trend growing . . . I think in our recipe box needs a separate category for Peanut Butter and Chocolate!

Are you on Pinterest?  If so, you know that there are so many amazing ideas to fantasize about, incredible projects to add it your “someday I’ll make this” list, and delicious food that just makes you drool!  Mostly I am content to just “pin” for some future date that may or may not come . . .  but when I saw these cookies they literally said, “you need to make these today” – so I did.

Let me just issue a warning now:  If you plan to make these cookies, be sure to have plenty of people to share them with – or wrap them up for graduation gifts – if not, give up all bikini aspirations for this summer {smile}.  These cookies are somewhat sinful and addictive {you’re going to love them}.

Marbled Peanut Butter and Chocolate Snickers Cookies

Peanut Butter Dough

2 cups creamy peanut butter
2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 cup chocolate chips (I recommend semi-sweet)

Chocolate Dough

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, at room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 regular-sized Snicker bars, chopped into small pieces
3/4 cup chocolate chips

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

For the peanut butter dough, stir together the peanut butter, sugar, and egg until dough forms.  Stir in the chocolate chips; set aside.

For the chocolate dough, cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar.  Slowly beat in eggs and vanilla until well combined.  In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.  Slowly add to the butter mixture.  Stir in chopped Snickers pieces and chocolate chips.

Take a tablespoon of peanut butter dough and a tablespoon of chocolate dough and press together.  Gently roll into a ball and place on a lightly greased baking sheet.  (hint, if dough is sticky, spray just a little cooking spray on your hands).

Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until done.  Let cool 5 minutes on baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

Much thanks to Bakergirl for this yummy recipe
