Zesty BBQ Chicken {Crockpot}

I love using my crockpot all winter long. I love the smell of comfort food cooking and then enjoying a nice hot meal at the end of a cold day. But, just because it is summer and not at all cold outside doesn’t mean that the crockpot needs to collect dust.  I love this chicken, because I can throw it in the crockpot in the morning and then head out for a day at the pool and still return home to a very delicious dinner.

I, personally, love this chicken paired with a baked potato.  It makes a great BBQ chicken sandwich as well.  And I love that it freezes so well.  Cook once and eat twice. 😉  I often package about half of the shredded chicken to be eaten at a later time.

Zesty BBQ Chicken

Ingredients:

5-6 chicken breasts
12 oz BBQ sauce
1/2 cup Zesty Italian Dressing
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbls. Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

Combine all ingredients except the chicken in a medium bowl.  Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot and pour BBQ mixture over the top.  Cook on high 4-6 hours or on low 8-10 hours.  Before serving shred the chicken.

This goes great over the top of a baked potato or as a BBQ chicken sandwich.

*This freezes really well, so save any leftovers!!
