Sweet Fire Honey Grilled Pork Chops

Sweet Fire Pork Chops

We love to use our grill and cook outside as much as possible.  {Fortunately here in Texas that is most of the year.}  For those of you with limited time before your grill is covered in snow, you’ll want to add these Sweet Fire Honey Grilled Pork Chops to your grilling menu.

I love that these chops are so easy to make and taste so good in so little time!  They’ve got a honey sweet taste with just enough kick to liven things up.  You can adjust the spices for as mild or as hot as you like!

Ingredients

4 bone-in pork chops, abut 3/4 in thick
1/3 cup honey
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon orange zest
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/2 – 1  teaspoon chipotle chili powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (more to garnish)
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
fresh ground black pepper to taste

Directions

In a small bowl, combine the honey, oil, orange zest, chili powder, crushed red pepper, salt, and black pepper.  Spread the honey mixture on both sides of pork chops.  Let stand about 20 minutes.

Heat grill to medium-high heat.  Place chops on the grill and close lid.  Grill about 4-5 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees.  Brush the chops with more honey mixture during last couple minutes of grilling.  Remove from heat and let rest 3-5 minutes before serving.  Sprinkle with additional crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
