Cherry Pie Cutie Pies {plus free Printable Valentine Tag}

Do you realize we are half-way through January?  Just when you thought the holidays were behind you . . . here we go again – It’s less than one month until Valentine’s Day!  I love Valentine’s Day because its just the perfect opportunity to let people in your live know you care.

Just think what you co-workers would say when they found one of these little Cherry Pie Cutie Pies on their desk!  How about your 2nd grader’s teacher {we can always use all the brownie points we can get -right?}

Here’s what’s great about these adorable little pies.  These little gems use a crumb pie crust that is super easy to make and canned cherry pie filling.  Easy-Smeasy!  The recipe is actually our Cherry Crunch Pie which you can find here.  No worries about rolling out pie crust – just make the crumble mixture and press into the jars.

We’ve also made an adorable Valentine Printable Gift Tag to add to your jar for simple and easy gifting  to whomever is on your Sweet List.

Because I know you are going to ask, I got those super cute wooden spoons on Etsy from The Bakers Confections – don’t they just wrap things up perfectly!

As usual, a scoop of vanilla ice cream is always a delicious addition!  {You can warm your pie in the microwave a few seconds if you like.}

Cherry Pie Cutie Pies

2 cups Bisquick mix
1 egg
1/3 cup oil
2/3 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 can cherry pie filling

5 (8 oz) wide-mouth mason jars

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray mason jars lightly with cooking spray.

Mix all ingredients except pie filling in a bowl until it forms a crumble.  Use about 1/4 cup (packed) crumble mix in each jar.  Press the crumb mix into bottom of the jar with a tamper if you have one or a small cup.  Then use your fingers to press it up the sides. ending just below the lid rings.  Set remaining dough aside.  Spoon cherries equally into your five jars.  Crumble a little topping on top of the pies – leaving a little red showing.  NOTE:  you will not need all the crumb topping, there will be a little left over – you can bake it like a cookie if you like.

Bake on a sheet pan for 30 -40 minutes or until golden brown.  Allow to cool before putting lids on.

Spicing Up Your Holidays {free printable}

Is it just me, or does it seem Christmas is sneaking up on us fast this year! Giving is so much of the fun of Christmas, but coming up with fresh ideas for friends and neighbors can be tough sometimes.  Last year a friend brought us chips and salsa for Christmas.  What a fabulous idea!  We absolutely loved it- after so many yummy cookies and sweets, the salty chips and fresh salsa were perfect! This year, I thought I’d pass on her wonderful idea to you- and help you out even more, we’ve created a label to make it super simple! {Yeah!}  You can download the Spicing up your Holidays tag to fit the top of both wide-mouth and small-mouth mason jars- or you can cut and hang it with string.  Use the “Dip In” tag to package up some chips for dipping – or let your kids decorate the bags, they’ll love it!

Our homemade Restaurant Style Salsa recipe {which is fast and easy} and a bag of tortilla chips is  a fun and festive way to say Merry Christmas or Feliz Navidad!
